We had our USCIS biometric fingerprints made today!
I've been really EXCITED about this day ever since we got our new appointment times a few weeks ago! You know, it's so strange to say this, but in some ways, I miss the "paperwork phase". Weird, huh? I don't really miss the paperwork itself...just that feeling of always "doing something" to get us closer to bringing Caroline Faith home. It was fun to check something off the list again! :)
It felt very "official" to be in the USCIS office! The appointment went pretty quickly. We didn't have to wait very long at all, which was good since we had a cute 3 year old with us! :) The lady who did our fingerprints was so precious! I asked her if she had been doing a lot of fingerprints lately for couples adopting internationally? She said, "Oh, yes, and we are seeing more and more families adopting from ETHIOPIA!" I LOVED hearing that!
It was neat because these fingerprints are made digitally...no messy ink! :) Now they will send them in to be processed, and we will just wait on our FDL (Favorable Determination Letter) to come in! This will be the official approval for our family to adopt internationally! Huge milestone!!
Caty and Daddy!! She had on her ballet outfit, her long coat, and her rain boots...love it!!
Caty and Mommy after the appointment! It was fun to have Caty with us...she did great!! And I love for the kids to be involved with any milestone to bring their little sister home!!
Praising God for another BIG step forward to our baby girl!!
