I'm gonna be honest. This week has been kind of tough emotionally. Another week of no referrals going out in our agency, although I'm still holding out hope there might be some today!! :) This means no children being matched with families, and no movement on the waitlist. TOUGH.
And the sun did not shine one single day...until today!!! SO THANKFUL for a cold, but SUNNY Friday!!
Well, by yesterday morning, I was just crying out to God. I was just praying for our daughter, for God to just pour out His favor on the waiting process, and for Him to just give me PATIENCE and JOY in the wait!
Then I just asked God if He would just give me some type of sign that day that this was still His plan for us, that our daughter was truly waiting for us in Ethiopia, and that we will one day actually bring her HOME! I just really needed that yesterday. I know all these things are TRUE, but my heart just needed another reminder.
Praise God that He is so patient with me, and keeps putting up with me!!! :) So, the whole entire day goes by, and then last night...it came. His SIGN for me!
I was upstairs, and Jody called me to "come down here and see this"! I had no idea what he was talking about. I came down and saw these precious things sitting on the chair in our den...
Look at all these precious "Princess Tiana" things for Caroline Faith!!! They are all from my sweet friend, Sandi. She dropped them off at Jody's office yesterday, and told him that God has just told her to order these things for us!
I just started CRYING!! This was my SIGN!!! I knew it immediately. Through my tears, I told Jody how I had just prayed that very morning and asked God for some type of sign that we would one day actually bring our baby girl home!
Precious princess gifts for our little girl!! I love monogrammed baby blankets, and the tears kept coming as I looked at her name! Our sweet Caroline.
Our Caroline Faith is part of our family already. She is coming home one day. I don't know how long we'll have to wait, but today I am filled with PEACE and HOPE once again!! We'll wait for her as long as it takes!!!
Thank You, Jesus, for the SIGN and the SUNSHINE!!!
Lovin' these verses I read this morning...
"O Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear to vindicate the ORPHAN and the oppressed." Psalm 10:17-18

awww what a sweet friend who was just being obedient to God, and how cool how God used her to encourage you! :) There is a new Mercy Me out on their newest cd and I don't know the exact title but it was playing on my ipod yesterday and I thought of you and was praying for you. You've got to hear it if you haven't. It's something like "We will be..." (or at least it says that a lot. ;) There was a verse about a baby girl that just broke me and that was when you came to mind as well. :)
Praise! Hang in there, friend!
Love that story,Alison!
Oh, Alison, this is a very sweet love note from God! How precious! May it lift your heart during this rough spot in the waiting........*HUGS*
So cool! Love God's sweet reminders! Praying for some major movement on that waitlist with LOTS of referrals!
LOVED this post! Seeing those Tiana things just brought back sweet memories of praying for Ruta. Praying for you and loving the signs the Holy Spirit sent your way.
