Gotta Have Faith!

I was so EXCITED because today I went to Shana's house to pick up a few more "special order" frames AND...

a green one that she gave to us!!! I LOVE it! I already have it hanging on the wall! :) Thanks so much, Shana!

Jeff and Shana called us this summer telling us how they wanted to help several families who were adopting, including ours! They said they would be making frames to sell at their fall shows, and all the proceeds from these frames would go to our adoption funds! Each family could choose a verse or quote to go on their frame. Well, Jody and I immediately started thinking about what Bible verse we wanted to go on our frame...hmmmm.

We weren't sure, so we really started praying about it. Well, a few days later, as I walked in the door from a walk, Jody suggested a verse. I really don't remember what verse I THOUGHT I heard him say, but I was just like..."I'm not sure, let's keep praying about it."

Well, a few days later, I was at the gym on the elliptical machine reading through a book of Bible verses, just looking for a verse that God might show me that we could put on our frame.

It was that morning, that I saw THE VERSE...

"Now FAITH is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1

As soon as I read it, I got chills and tears in my eyes! This verse was THE ONE!! I just knew it. I knew the Lord was telling me that this was the verse that HE had chosen for our frame, for our adoption journey, and for our DAUGHTER!

Well, I texted Jody right then, and told him about the verse. I seriously wish I had saved the text that he sent me back...it was hilarious! :)

He texted back, "Alison, do you have amnesia? That is THE SAME EXACT VERSE that I suggested the other day!"

I texted him back, "WHAT?! Are you serious?? That is NOT the verse I thought I heard you say!"

Jody: "That is the same verse, I promise."

Me: "Oh my goodness, I can't believe it! Then this is definitely the one! I guess God just wanted to show it to us individually at different times! What a confirmation!"

So, this is the totally crazy story, but totally GOD story, of how we chose Hebrews 11:1 to claim over our adoption journey to Caroline Faith!

We are putting all our faith in God, that He will lead us to our daughter. We are surely hoping for her, even though we can't see her, and even though we're not exactly certain of how or when this journey will end. But, that is where the FAITH comes in!! And we are certain that God will be faithful to complete this journey that He has called us on.

Well, a few weeks ago I opened the "Outlive Your Life" field manual (which is kind of like a study guide to go along with the sermons), and THIS was on the first two pages...

Ahhhh...I just love seeing God's confirmations!!! His FAITHFULNESS in our adoption journey has been the one constant...the one thing we can count on.

God is always faithful. That, you can count on. Now, we've just gotta have the FAITH to step forward in obedience to whatever He's calling us to do!

God has spoken through you to me today. I just finished reading the bk "Little Princes" by Conor Grennan, about "one man's promise to bring home the lost children of Nepal". Although he is comical in his story narrative, the story itself is difficult & an eye openner. I was thinking, praying last night, that our journey to adopt our "african bundle of joy" is truly the journey that God has chosen for us. HIS way of caring for Orphans of this world through people like yours and ours. Yes, FAITH, that is what we need, and the signs he has given to you (& through you to me today) to confirm this, are a blessing. Thanks for sharing!!!
