This time last month, we were so excited to have finally made the TOP TEN!!! And now just one month later we are more than happy to be in the SINGLE DIGITS!!! We are so thankful for some movement closer to our baby girl in Ethiopia!
Currently, our agency is estimating the wait time for referral of a baby girl at 22 months...which is EXACTLY where we are in our wait!!! But unfortunately, this estimated wait time seems to be extended every month. They are telling us to prepare to wait 24 months or longer. We are just praying for God's perfect will and timing...and maybe for a MIRACLE! :)
Never once did I ever think we would wait this long to see our daughter's face. I had no idea...but God knew all along! I am really trying my hardest not to be an emotional basket case, and to instead choose to rest in God's timing and His peace!
And I'm so thankful to be 22 MONTHS closer to our daughter!

Wow, I have to admit it. This wait is getting LONG, and we are more than ready to see your sweet little face! I was pretty emotional all last week, and I am hoping that it's because we are very close to getting "the call" about YOU!
You are so LOVED, so PRAYED FOR, so WANTED, so SPECIAL...and such a beautiful child created by God and chosen to be in our family! We just can't wait for the day when we finally get to hold you in our arms! I can't even try to imagine the moment without tears in my eyes!
Sweet girl, I am praying that our waiting months are soon to be over! Our family is not complete without you, and we are so excited about bringing you HOME!!! I am praying for a MIRACLE for you today.

Praying for you on your journey! Read everything you can about older adopted children. Sometimes the children end up being older than what you are told. We have several sets of friends who adopted from Ethiopia. Read up on being a multiracial family, too. I like these books: "Our Own" by Trish Maskew, "Parenting your internationally adopted child" by Patti Cogen, and "Are Those Kids Yours" by Cheri Register.

Our 22 months is this Saturday. Who knew we would all still be waiting?? I can't wait to hear the day you announce the referral of your sweet little Caroline Faith! I know it's coming soon and it will all be worth all this waiting!
