A couple of months ago, I felt like the Lord was telling me to start preparing for our baby girl. This was the first time in our now over 3 year journey that I had ever felt like that. My heart was stirring, and I knew He wanted me to start slowing getting ready for her arrival.
So, over the past few months I have (very slowly) began to start trying to prepare for her. Anything I can do without knowing her age, size, etc., I am trying to get started on. With Caroline Faith having three older siblings (and 2 of them being older sisters), we already have lots of things that we'll need for her. But we've still got a lot to do.
Right before we moved 3 years ago, we had a garage sale and sold almost all our baby things. This sale took place literally one month before God told me our baby girl was in Ethiopia! Ha! I had a friend joke one time that the best way to get pregnant was to get rid of all your baby things! Well, for us, we got rid of (almost all) our baby things, and then a few months later we were starting the adoption journey and were "paper pregnant"! :)
As for now, the plan is for Caroline to share a room with her big sister. So we really don't have a "nursery" but a shared big girl/baby girl room. I think it's going to turn out cute, but I still have lots of re-arranging to do. Once I get it done, I'll be sure to share pictures.
But here's a little sneak peek of a few little touches I've added to the girls' room...
We found this at a cute little children's store in Seaside when we were at the beach over New Year's. I got tears in my eyes when I saw it. This is true for all of our kids, so it's the perfect addition to the girl's room!
I saw this adorable little owl at that same children's store and just couldn't resist! :)
(This pic also gives ya'll a tiny sneak peek of the crib bedding!)
My amazingly talented sister-in-law, Erin, made me this for Christmas...I LOVE it!!! It is so precious, and I love the truth of God's word on the walls!
Jody and I are on Day 17 of a 40 day journey of prayer and fasting. This was the verse that I was praying through this morning. My heart is praying Daniel's prayer today...
"O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and take action! For Your own sake, O my God, do not delay, because Your city and Your people are called by Your name.” Daniel 9:19

LOVE these! Planning for Murphy and Max to share a room too, so I can't wait to see how your big/baby room turns out!
Love these sneak peeks! So precious!
Our girls are going to share a room too! I'm having a hard time figuring out how to put it together. I can't wait to see your pictures!
Reading your blog helps me wait for our referral. You just seem so peaceful!
I love how when God created the world, He made the perfect home, the beautiful garden, BEFORE He made the man and woman to live in it.
May that bedroom be an Eden for Caroline Faith!
These little details to Caroline Faith's room are adorable! She is going to know how loved she is by her family/friends and God!
I love your new decorations! Your sister-in-law is very talented!
These are so sweet, Allison! I'm so excited for you guys as you get closer. Erin did a great job on the wall art. What a special piece for Caroline Faith.
