So Glad I Was WRONG!!

Well, this is one time in my life when I am so happy to say that I was wrong! :)

Remember when I told you here that there were only THREE families from Mississippi that were adopting from Ethiopia with AGCI? Well, I found out yesterday that I was WRONG! There are FOUR!

Let me tell you the story...

Yesterday, Jody and I went for our very first meeting with our social worker at our home study agency, Catholic Charities. It was basically an informational meeting...and it was so helpful! I was there for 2 hours, and I loved every second of it! I am so excited to get this started! I have a list a mile long of all the documents we need to start obtaining, plus fingerprints, physicals, etc. Love it!

Well, we were talking to our social worker, and she said that she was working on a home study right now with a family adopting from Ethiopia with AGCI. REALLY????

I knew that the Smiths and Braddys had not started their home study process yet, so it was not either one of them. Then she told us that this couple had three biological children...just like us! And that they know no one in our area that is adopting from Ethiopia!

I am so excited to know there is yet another family walking this in MS! Our social worker could not give me their names or info without asking them first. But she is going to get in touch with them, and give them our info. So, hopefully, really soon we will be able to connect with another family in our area that is adopting from Ethiopia!!! How great is that?! It just made my day! :)

Also, she told us that she has worked with a few families in MS that have adopted from Ethiopia with different adoption agencies...but they have all since moved out of state. We talked about how important it will be for Caroline (love calling her that!) to see other families that look like hers. So, it is super-encouraging to now know of at least three other local families she will see that look just like hers!

And you know I am praying for MORE! For God to call more families to bring these precious orphans home! And for more families to say "YES!" to adoption!!

"A father to the FATHERLESS, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling."
Psalm 68:5

How awesome! I know it makes the process that much easier having families in the area that are going through the same process you are. I'm praying for your patience as you go through this timely process...I know it will be worth it for you! :-)

That is so cool!! I wish there were families here that are adopting from Ethiopia - we don't have any local AGCI families :( but that's okay because I love all my AGCI blog pals!! :)
