A Young Girl I Look Up To!

I wanted to share a quick story of another amazing way God has chosen to provide for us on our adoption journey! Well, about a week ago, one of my good friends called to tell me something...I was literally speechless.

She told me that her 11 year old daughter, Rayna, had been making these really cute fabric bags and selling them to all her friends. And do you want to know the reason she was doing this???

To help us with our adoption expenses to bring Caroline Faith HOME!!!!

Every dollar she made, she was saving to give to us for our adoption. Ya'll, she is 11...I am just overwhelmed by her precious, giving heart! Here is a young girl who "gets it" at such an early age! I was 32 years old before I really "got it"! She just has an amazing love for the Lord, and He is already using her in BIG ways! I really can't wait to see what all God has planned for this little girl's life!

So, here is sweet Rayna and me at VBS Family Night last week! She was delivering some of her cute bags that she had made for some of her friends!

Are these bags not so ADORABLE?!! Had to show you a close up of one of them! She is so creative and talented!

That night, she also gave us all the money she had made so far from making and selling her bags. Ya'll, it was actually hard to accept it! There was a part of me that wanted to tell her there was no way I could take all that money she had worked so hard to earn. But I knew in my heart, that I had to. God was using her to bless our lives...and I couldn't keep her from fulfilling what He was calling her to do. And I am so grateful that He did inspire her to help us on our journey! Her gift is just so precious to us...she gave it to us out of her love for God and her love for orphans.

This verse came to my mind as I was thinking about Rayna...

"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

She is already setting an example to others around her by how she is following after God's heart. Oh, how I pray my children will also grow up with a heart like this! Rayna is a young girl that I definitely look up to!!
