A Labor of LOVE!!

So, this is what I spent my summer doing...

Our *DOSSIER*!! A true labor of LOVE!

And to tell you the truth, I actually enjoyed every second of it! Every document, every signature, every notarization made me feel like we were another step closer to Caroline Faith! I am a very detail-oriented person (aka, perfectionist), so I think I have driven my sweet case worker crazy with all of my many detail questions! Ha! But my goal is to not have to "re-do" any of the documents...we'll see how that goes!

So, this morning, Caty and I made a trip to Kinko's to run off copies of our dossier. Our agency, AGCI, asks that we make 3 copies of all of the documents. One is for our records, and then we'll mail the original and 2 sets of copies to them! The original documents will go straight to ETHIOPIA!!

Here is what you get when you run off 3 copies of an entire dossier...a HUGE box of papers! And I am guarding this box carefully until it is time to mail everything in! :)

And here is the happy mommy with her checklist...almost everything checked off!!

Okay, well if you zoomed in on that checklist, you would notice that there is one very important blank that is not checked off! And that would be our home study! We are waiting on our social worker to finish writing our home study. She is supposed to call me as soon as it's ready! Praying that phone call comes very soon! Then, we'll also make 3 copies of it, mail everything in to AGCI, and get on the wait list for our baby girl! Oh, that will be a happy, happy day! :)

Honestly, I am feeling very much at peace right now. God taught me so much through waiting on the FBI results.  Sometimes in the waiting is where we hear His voice the clearest and we cling to Him the most. And let's face it, there is just a lot of waiting involved in an adoption process. But in some ways, I am glad it's that way. He is growing my faith every single day on this journey, and that is enough to make me thankful...even in the waiting.

"You will keep in perfect PEACE him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you." Isaiah 26:3

I cannot believe it - you are almost there! You must be a very driven and organized person to have gotten so much done so fast! Where do you get your girls' dresses? They are so adorable and I don't recognize them from common children's stores.
