Wow! It feels like forever since I have blogged! We are HOME from our first trip to Ethiopia, and it was absolutely AMAZING!!! God just went before us the whole way and totally covered us the entire time! We had some precious time with our new daughter, and we got to experience her beautiful birth country! Of course, we fell in love with Ethiopia and the precious people there, but we are thankful to be back home!
We left last Thursday, July 18th and got back this past Thursday, July 25th! We got home on Carson's 8th birthday, so it was such a blessing to get to spend time with him on his big day! And here's some exciting news...
Caroline Faith "L" is OFFICIALLY OUR DAUGHTER!!!
On Tuesday, July 23, 2013, the judge in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (actually the judge's assistant...another story for another day!) declared that she is ours!!! We passed court! Praise God!!! I cried when I heard those words in the judge's chambers! We are now officially a family of SIX!!!
I tried to journal as much as I could while I was there, so I can't wait to post more details about each day! And I can't wait to post about the day we first met her and held her...Saturday, July 20th! I will never forget that day! And let's just say she was a little "unsure" about us! We both cried as I held her for the first time! :)
Hopefully, I can start writing some next week! Thank you so much for all your prayers and sweet words of encouragement! We are excited to see the Lord's timing in bringing her HOME! We are hoping to have her home sometime in the next 4-6 weeks! More to come soon!
We are just so THANKFUL for all He has done for us and our family!!!

So excited for you guys! I have some sweet pics of your little girl....private message me your email address on facebook and I'll get them to you. Hope you get to go back soon! :)
Oops, just saw your email address on your sidebar. I'll get them to you! :)
Soooo happy for you.
I've been following your blog for awhile as we just adopted our son from Ethiopia. He has been home for one month and we are in love with our sweet little boy!! He wasn't "sure" of us the first time we met him and we found out during our 2nd trip that he had an ear infection (during our first trip). I'm so happy you got in before the courts close for the rainy season-what a blessing! So happy that you were able to hold your little girl in your arms. It's unreal when you bring your precious child home--the child you have been waiting and praying for for so long!! Praying you get Embassy clearance soon!:)
Congratulations!! That is just so exciting!Praying hat you have peace as you wait to have her home forever!
Can't believe you are actually posting about these things. Praise God!
This is the best possible news I could have read on this Monday morning...so happy for your family!!
YEA!!!! This makes my heart leap, Allison! I cannot wait to read all about it and see pics of your trip and precious Caroline Faith! I'm sure your heart is still over there until your daughter is home - I'll be praying for you. A long overdue e-mail from me is coming soon!
Congratulations, Carrie
