Okay, so today I got back in "Adoption Mode"...big time!!
I am transitioning from this...
...back to THIS!!
So, I dropped the kids off at "Kids Day Out" this morning, and got back into full-time adoption mode! By the way, Kids Day Out has been a lifesaver this summer! Wednesdays from 9-2 are when I get all our adoption paperwork, meetings, etc. done...and sometimes a fun lunch date with my hubby or friends! Love Wednesdays! And the thing is, my kids do too!
I worked on the computer all morning getting the application letter and financial form finished, then picked up Jody at his office and headed to meet my sister-in-law for lunch! We're so excited that "Aunt Laura" is in town!
Laura and I at lunch today...it was so fun to get to see her! We wish she and her husband lived closer!
It was so neat because we ran into a friend of Jody's mom at lunch who works for Bethany, a Christian adoption agency. We were telling her that we were in the middle of the home study/dossier process of our adoption. Her words of advice? "PERSEVERE!" So true, this paperwork process is taking lots of perseverance, for sure! :)
Well, after lunch, Jody and I went to the bank to get 7 documents notarized!! YAY! Checking them off the list! It looks like I will be making a trip to our Secretary of State's office early next week for our state certification! Now, if those FBI fingerprint results would just get here! One of our best friends, that we met when we lived in Texas, is an FBI agent, so he is going to see if he can find out anything about the status of our fingerprints. Praying they are being processed! We have to have the FBI record check done to complete our home study...I have been checking the mail everyday with much anticipation!
Amazing News!! We came home from the mission trip to find 3 unexpected checks in our mailbox...that together came to over $2,200! PRAISE GOD!! We put all the money directly into our adoption fund! God provides, let me say it again...GOD ALWAYS PROVIDES!!!
And I am thanking Him today for His provision...
"Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!" 2 Cor. 9:15
