Well, I feel like I have been posting about a lot of "3's" lately...over 3 years praying for our daughter in Ethiopia, 3rd time getting our USCIS fingerprints done, #3 on the waitlist in January, and now for the month of February we are again...
#3 on the AGCI girl waitlist for Ethiopia!
We just an email from our case worker, M, this afternoon. I have to admit, it wasn't quite as exciting as it was last month! :) However, we are still thankful to be where we are in the wait...nearing the end! I know that God is beginning to prepare us to meet our daughter.
Early this morning, I was feeling a little disappointed in the wait. It was not even 7:00 am yet, and I was already fighting some discouragement. I was about to read the Jesus Calling devotional for the day, and I just prayed that the Lord would use today's reading to really speak to me. I needed a strong word from Him this morning.
And WOW, did He ever give it to me! This is what I read (with tears in my eyes)...
"KEEP YOUR EYES ON ME! Waves of adversity are washing over you, and you feel tempted to give up. As your circumstances consume more and more of you attention, you are losing sight of Me. Yet I am with you always, holding you by your right hand. I am fully aware of your situation, and I will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear.
Your gravest danger is worrying about tomorrow. If you try to carry tomorrow's burdens today, you will stagger under the load and eventually fall flat. You must discipline yourself to live within the boundaries of today. It is in the present moment that I walk close to you, helping you carry your burdens. Keep your focus on My Presence in the present."
That could not have been anymore perfect for what I needed to read today! I love when God uses things to speak to us in the exact way we need it and the exact time!
This isn't a "#3" verse, but this was in our L3 Bible reading this morning, and it was also perfect for what I needed to read and meditate on today...
"Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and shield. For our heart is glad in Him because we trust in His holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in You."
Psalm 33:20-22
