Today, November 17, 2012, marks exactly 26 MONTHS on the AGCI waitlist for our baby girl in Ethiopia!
It's hard to believe that another month has flown by, and we are (as far as I know) still #5 on the waitlist for our baby girl. Some days it feels like we have been FIVE forever. :)
I absolutely LOVE when people ask us about our adoption journey and where we are on the waitlist. It helps when people ask because it lets me know they still CARE, they haven't forgotten about us and our baby girl, and they are still with us on this over 2 year journey.
But it's been kind of funny lately because instead of asking, "What number are ya'll now?", the question has changed to, "Are ya'll still #5???" :)
And my answer is that I think so. Trust me, there is going to be A LOT of rejoicing when we finally break past #5. Our kids are more than ready to take down a number off our number line!
But all of that to say, I know that this adoption journey has nothing to do with a number on a waitlist or number of months waiting. That is just something for us humans to "tangibly" hold on to. In God's plan, He is never limited by time or space...or numbers!
We are believing in Him for miracles for our daughter. We are trusting in Him to fight this battle for us. We are calling on the name of Jesus constantly. We are praying for the Holy Spirit to intercede for us in our weakness.
I am not going to sugar coat it. We are in a difficult season of waiting, but we are hanging on to Him. It is hard but it's good all at the same time. We pray that He is glorified fully and that we are growing to be more like Him.
To our little love,
We are praising God that we are another month closer to seeing your sweet face. Not a day goes by that I don't imagine and dream of what that moment will be like. I can't even try to picture in my mind without tears rolling down my cheeks.
We never thought we would wait this long to see your face. God has us on a long journey of waiting, but it has been so good for us. We know that He is using this wait to help grow us and shape us. We pray that we will be better parents to you because of this wait.
Our Father works everything for our good. We know that His plan and purpose in this wait are for our good...and for your good too. We pray that the finish line is near.
Hold on, baby girl. We love you and we're coming soon.

You have such a beautiful perspective and heart. I am praying and believing with you... and hoping you see her face before Christmas! <3
Alison, I just know the day is coming soon! I love that verse!
Praying sweet friend!!
You are in my thoughts and prayers daily.
Alison,
We too are waiting and your posts really help me when I become discouraged.
Praying that your #5 turns very soon to a referral for your sweet girl and an amazingly quick court and embassy trip.
